Call for Workshops
The ICPR 2010 Workshop Chairs invite workshop proposals for the 20th International Conference on
Pattern Recognition (www.icpr2010.org). The workshops will be held immediately before the start of
the main conference. The workshops must be full-day.
The ICPR 2010 workshops will provide an informal setting where workshop participants will have the
opportunity to discuss technical topics in an atmosphere that fosters an active exchange of ideas. Members
from all segments of the pattern recognition community are invited to submit workshop proposals for review.
The topics of the workshops should be such that the workshops do not divert papers from the main
conference. Each proposal will be assessed for its scientific content, proposed structure and overall
relevance. Workshop organizers will be responsible for inviting speakers and ensuring their participation,
submission and review of papers, and structuring and leading the discussion sessions.
Each workshop organizing committee will be responsible for producing a Call for Papers by January 15,
2010.
Submission Requirements
The proposal should provide the following information:
- A brief description of the workshop, specifying the goals and the technical issues that will be addressed.
- A brief discussion of why and to whom the workshop is of interest.
- The names, postal addresses, phone and fax numbers, email addresses and short biographies of the proposed workshop organizing committee. This committee should consist of at least three people who are experts in the technical area.
- The name of the primary contact person for the organizing committee.
- A list of the program committee members.
- If available, a list of tentatively confirmed attendees.
ICPR 2010 will be responsible for the following:
- Providing a meeting place and logistical support for the workshop.
- Duplicating workshop notes and distributing them to the participants. (Note that workshop papers
will not be included in the ICPR 2010 proceedings. Workshop organizers are encouraged to find
additional means of publishing the workshop proceedings.)
ICPR 2010 reserves the right to cancel any workshop if deadlines are missed or if too few attendees register
for the workshop by the early registration deadline to support the costs of hosting the workshop. To cover the
costs, it will be necessary to charge workshop participants a workshop registration fee.
Proposals and questions should be sent to the chairs at the following addresses. You will receive an
acknowledgement email from one of the workshop chairs within a few working days.
